BELLEVILLE — A driver is suing fellow motorist Elizabeth A. Staub, a Millstadt resident, alleging that insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Bonnie L. Watters filed a complaint in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Staub, alleging that she failed to use the highest degree of care to avoid a collision.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 13, she was operating a motor vehicle and was stopped at an intersection when a vehicle operated by the defendant struck her vehicle, causing her to sustain permanent injuries that led to medical expenses presently in excess of $45,000. The plaintiff holds Staub responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a proper lookout and failed to keep a safe distance.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation in an amount not to exceed $50,000, plus interest and costs, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and for any further relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Robert J. Radice of Horas, Radice & Associates LLC in St. Louis.
