BELLEVILLE — A Caseyville property owner is suing a cellular phone tower operator, alleging he is owed more than $50,000.

Thomas G. Petroff, trustee of the Thomas G. Petroff and Jane Petroff Trust, filed a lawsuit Aug. 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Crown Castle USA Inc. alleging breach of a contractual agreement.

According to the complaint, Petroff suffered monetary damages between $50,000 and $75,000 because Crown Castle violated their agreement by not paying the real estate taxes of the Caseyville property they are leasing.

The complaint also says that maintenance costs of $10,000 are also owed.

Petroff seeks trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000. He is represented by attorney Thomas G. Maag of Maag Law Firm LLC in Wood River.
