EDWARDSVILLE — Two siblings are suing a Madison County construction company, alleging the defendant's negligence caused the death of the plaintiffs' father.

Kayla Bray and Kelli Bray, individually and as co-administrators of the estate of Patrick Bray, filed a lawsuit Aug. 30 in Madison County Circuit Court against Walsh Construction Co. alleging violation of the Jones Act in failing to take sufficient measures to prevent injuries..

According to the complaint, on June 10, 2013, decedent Patrick Bray was working for Walsh Construction on the Blanchette Bridge project over the Missouri River when he was struck and killed by a falling barrel. The plaintiffs alleges Walsh Construction failed to provide a safe place to work.

The Brays seeks trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000, plus all other relief the court deems just and proper.

They are represented by attorney Eric J. Carlson of Byron Carlson Petri & Kalb LLC in Edwardsville.
