Collinsville bank alleges Irish customers owe more than $101,000

EDWARDSVILLE — A Collinsville bank is suing two customers from Northern Ireland, alleging failure to pay more than $101,000.

First Collinsville Bank filed a lawsuit Aug. 11 in Madison County Circuit Court against Michael R. Christer and Jennifer L. Koontz, both from Northern Ireland, alleging failure to comply with their promissory note.

According to the complaint, First Collinsville has suffered monetary damages for not collecting a loan with a balance of $101,225.40. The plaintiff alleges Christer and Koontz defaulted under the terms of the note by failing to make payments.

First Collinsville Bank seeks a trial by jury, judgment of $101,885.40, plus post- judgement interest, attorney fees, costs of suit and all other relief the court deems proper. It is represented by Kevin J. Stine, general counsel of First Co Bancorp, Inc. in O'Fallon.
