By The Madison County Record | Aug 15, 2016

EDWARDSVILLE — A daughter is suing a Highland long-care facility owner, alleging negligent in the care and treatment of her mother.

Shirley Ann Weiss, daughter and special administrator for Dorothy Thole, filed a lawsuit Aug. 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against Faith Care LLC, alleging violation of the Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, beginning Aug. 14, 2014, Thole received personal and medical care at Faith Care Center. The suit says she sustained injuries, including a broken hand, cracked teeth, a fractured back, UTI's and diminished mobility.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide adequate medical and personal care and assistance to Thole, administered diabetic shots to her while she was not a diabetic, allowed her to fall and put her back in her bed in a horrible condition and did not notify her family about the fall.

Weiss seeks a trial by jury, judgment to compensate her fully and fairly for all losses, attorney fees and legal costs. She is represented by attorney Bill T. Walker of Granite City.
