BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County motorist is suing another driver, alleging the defendant's negligence caused a crash.
Marcie L. Warner filed a lawsuit July 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Clarence D. Janiszewski, alleging negligence in failing to maintain proper control of his vehicle.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 5, 2014, Warner was driving a vehicle belonging to Kenneth Clayton southbound at the intersection of Frank Scott Parkway in Fairview Heights when the defendant collided with her vehicle.
The suit says this crash caused injuries to Warner's body and led to medical expenses, great pain, emotional distress, loss of wages, physical disability and disfigurement.
The plaintiff alleges Janiszewski failed to keep proper lookout, operated the vehicle above the speed limit and failed to maintain proper distance.
Warner seeks trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000 and costs of suit. She is represented by attorneys Gregory D. Abel and Julie A Themer of Hausmann-McNally SC in Decatur.
