Motorist alleges negligence by vehicle owner, driver caused crash

EDWARDSVILLE — A St. Clair County man is suing a driver and her company, alleging their negligence led to a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Paul Dietrich filed a lawsuit July 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Christine Y. Green and Jeff Gintz doing business as Flexible Auto Sales and doing business as Big Jeff's Flexible Motors, alleging Green was negligent in failing to to exercise ordinary care.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 19, 2015, Dietrich was driving a motor vehicle northbound on state Route 157 near state Route 63 in Centreville, and Green was operating a motor vehicle owned by Gintz at the same location. The suit says Green collided with the plaintiff's vehicle, causing him bodily injuries and damages, 

The lawsuit states Dietrich's injuries resulted in pain and suffering, disability and disfigurement, medical expenses and increased risk of future injuries. The plaintiff alleges Green negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, negligently changed lanes and negligently made a U-turn when it was unsafe to do so.

Dietrich seeks a trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. He is represented by attorney Daniel K. Junker of Belleville.
