Consumer says sauce manufacturer's 'natural' claim is false

EDWARDSVILLE — A consumer has filed a class-action lawsuit against Kruse Management Group, Inc. d/b/a Bella's, a sauce manufacturer, citing alleged unfair, false, deceptive and misleading representations.

Becca Stroh filed a complaint on behalf of all other similarly situated citizens of Illinois on June 15, in the Madison County Circuit Court against Kruse Management Group, Inc. d/b/a Bella's alleging that the sauce manufacturer violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered substantial injury by exposing her to an unwanted and potentially harmful synthetic ingredients. She also suffered economic damages including the difference between the actual value of the product and the value of the product if it had been as represented. The plaintiff holds Kruse Management Group, Inc. d/b/a Bella's responsible because the defendant allegedly prominently represented that its product, Bella's Wing Sauce, is all natural when it's not, since it contains synthetic ingredients Caramel Color and Xanthan Gum.

The plaintiff claims the company deceived her into believing that the product is only comprised of natural ingredients.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks certification that this is a class action case, compensatory damages, pre-judgment and post judgement interest, attorneys' fees and costs and for all such other and further relief as may be just and proper.

She is represented by Matthew H. Armstrong of Armstrong Law Firm LLC in St. Louis, Missouri, David C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law PC in Belleville and Stuart L. Cochran of Cochran Law PLLC in Dallas, Texas.
