Weight loss program provider accuses Granite City business of breach of contract

EDWARDSVILLE — A weight loss program provider is suing a Granite City business, alleging it failed to comply with the terms and conditions of a license agreement.

Healthy Habits Medical Business Consultants filed a lawsuit June 17 in Madison County Circuit Court against Bridget Brasfield and Physical Medicine Clinic of Granite City Ltd., alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Healthy Habits has suffered damages of $7,000 for non-payment of a license for an unapproved location. The plaintiff alleges the defendants used Healthy Habits' weight loss program without  consent for more than a year, used its at an unapproved clinic and refused to pay for the services.

Healthy Habits Medical Business Consultants seeks a trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000, liquidated damages, late fees, interest, attorney fees, legal costs and any further relief the court deems proper. It is represented by attorney Deborah A. Hawkins of Hawkins Law Office PC in Edwardsville.
