EDWARDSVILLE — A man is suing a motorist, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Michael W. Bearley filed a complaint on June 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Lavinia D. Hubbard, alleging that the defendant failed to properly control her car, causing it to hit the plaintiff's vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 20, he suffered body injuries and incurred medical expenses for his treatment. The plaintiff holds Hubbard responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout while she was operating her vehicle, causing it to slide sideways into incoming traffic.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of the jurisdiction of this court plus court costs. He is represented by Alvin C. Paulson of Alvin C. Paulson, Attorney at Law in Belleville.
