BELLEVILLE — Two people are suing medical care providers over alleged negilgence, claiming that failure to timely diagnose cauda equina syndrome, obtain a neurosurgery consultation or order an MRI were factors in a plaintiff suffering injuries.
Ali Almefleh and Nadia Sabrah filed a complaint on May 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Stephanie Armstrong, PA-C, Kristy Holland, M.D., Midwest Emergency Department Services Inc, Kristina Nasser, M.D., HSHS Medical Group Inc., and St. Elizabeth's Hospital of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, alleging that insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that as a result of negligence on April 23, plaintiff Ali Almefleh has suffered permanent injuries, including pain, disfigurement and disability, and has become liable for medical bills.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgement against defendants in an amount greater that $75,000, plus costs. They are represented by Samantha S. Unsell of Keefe, Keefe & Unsell PC in Belleville.
