A St. Clair County man is suing his former lawyer, claiming he failed to properly represent him in a probate will case.
Charles Dean Pruitt filed the lawsuit on Sept. 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, claiming defendant Preston K. Johnson IV did not fully perform his duties as he was hired to do.
Pruitt claims he hired Johnson to represent him in the interest of an original will executed by Melba P. Pruitt on Feb 1, 2000. Pruitt claims Johnson did not perform his duties with his client in mind, and failed to provode the services in which he was requested.
Pruitt is suing Johnson for $250,000, a full refund of all payments made to Johnson, and for any further relief as the court deems fit. Pruitt is being represented by Christine Boardman of Millstadt.
