Motorist sued over alleged negligence in vehicle collision

A Madison County husband and wife are suing over property damages and injuries sustained in a vehicle collision.

Major Granger and Mertis Granger filed a complaint on Sept. 15 in Madison County Circuit Court against Bruce Hohnsbehn, alleging negligence.

On Sept. 24, 2013, the complaint states, Major Granger was driving his 1997 Chevrolet 350 pickup truck southbound on Illinois 159 at its intersection with Buchta Road in Madison County, with Mertis Granger as a passenger, when Hohnsbehn's vehicle struck Granger's.

The complaint alleges Hohnsbehn was negligent in failing to keep proper lookout, speeding, failing to obey a traffic device and failing to keep his vehicle under control.

As a result, Major Granger claims he sustained property damage to his vehicle, and Mertis Granger claims she sustained injuries.

The plaintiffs seek a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit. They are represented by H. Carl Runge, Jr. of the Law Offices of H. Carl Runge, Jr., LLC in Collinsville.
