Illinois Central School Bus and driver sued over Alton vehicle collision

Two Illinois residents are suing Illinois Central School Bus and one of its drivers over damages sustained in an Alton vehicle collision.

Allen L. Taylor and Brigette A. Belcher filed a complaint on Sept. 14 in Madison County Circuit Court against Jennifer R. McCormick and Illinois Central School Bus, LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, at approximately 2:40 p.m. on May 15, Taylor was driving a vehicle, owned by Belcher, northbound on Milton Road near its intersection with Coronado Drive in Alton, when McCormick, driving a vehicle owned by Illinois Central School Bus, collided with Taylor's vehicle.

The complaint alleges McCormick was negligent in failing to maintain control of her vehicle, failing to maintain proper lookout, failing to yield the right-of-way and speeding.

As a result, Taylor claims he suffered injuries to his face, head, neck, back, left hip and left arm, for which he has sustained pain, suffering, disability and has incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiffs seek a judgment against each defendant in excess of that required by this court, plus costs of the suit. They are represented by Laura A. Cole of Smith Mendenhall Selby & Cole in Alton.
