Motorist alleges injuries following O'Fallon collision

A motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence in a vehicle collision that left the plaintiff injured.

Matthew Murdock filed a lawsuit Sept. 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Paul Dare, alleging comparative negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 4, Murdock was driving westbound on Frank Scott Parkway East, approaching North Greenmount Road in O'Fallon, when Dare, driving eastbound on Frank Scott Parkway East, struck the side of Murdock's vehicle.

The suit says Dare was negligent in failing to keep a proper lookout, speeding, failing to yield the right-of-way and disregarding the traffic control light, among other negligent acts or omissions.

As a result, the suit states, Murdock sustained injuries to his head, neck, hand, shoulder and back, for which he has incurred medical expenses.

Murdock seeks more than $50,000, plus costs of the suit. He is represented by attorneys Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey, and Michelle M. Rich of Fairview Heights.
