Two Illinois residents sue motorist, alleging negligence in accident

Two Illinois residents are suing a Missouri motorist, alleging negligence over injuries they sustained in a vehicle collision.

Tanisha Green and William Guthrie filed a lawsuit on Sept. 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Aleksandr V. Volobuyev, alleging negligence.

On Nov. 1, 2014, the complaint states, Green was driving on state Route 3 in St. Clair County, with Guthrie as a passenger in her vehicle, when Volobuyev's vehicle struck the rear of her vehicle at the intersection of state Route 3 and Eighth Street.

The suit says alleges Volobuyev was negligent in failing to keep a careful lookout, speeding and driving while under the influence of alcohol, among other negligent acts or omissions.

As a result, the lawsuit states, Green sustained injuries to her head, neck and back, and Guthrie sustained injuries to his head, neck, back and left arm.

Each plaintiff seeks more than $50,000 in actual damages, $500,000 in punitive damages, interest and court costs. They are represented by attorney Michelle E. Radice of Horas, Radice & Associates in St. Louis.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 15-L-504.
