Former Madison County class action attorney voluntarily dismisses case alleging assault and battery

A former Madison County class action attorney voluntarily dismissed his lawsuit against a woman he accused of threatening him after he was misled in their alleged relationship.

Attorney Jeffrey A. J. Millar of the Millar Law Firm in Troy, Mo., filed a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice on Aug. 24. Circuit Judge Barbara Crowder ordered the case to be dismissed with prejudice that same day.

Millar filed his two-count complaint on June 30 in Madison County Circuit Court against the woman alleging assault and battery.

In his complaint, Millar claimed the defendant had been threatening him, his ex-wife and his 11-year-old son. He represented himself in the matter.

“This has tormented me into believing a batter is imminent,” he stated in his complaint. “I have even begun sleeping with a 5 iron golf club next to my bed.”

Crowder gave the defendant until Aug. 30 to respond. The case was dismissed before the defendant answered the complaint.
