Driver sues another motorist for allegedly causing a collision on Pontoon Road

A Madison County woman is suing the driver who allegedly caused her injuries when she turned left in front of her vehicle and caused a crash.

Julie A. Dolosic filed a complaint on Aug. 21 in Madison County Circuit Court against Barbara K. Mullis, from Alton, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, at 4:36 p.m. Oct. 2, 2014, Dolosic was driving her 2008 Chevrolet Uplander west on Pontoon Road in Madison County, approaching Maryville Road.

As Dolosic passed through the intersection with the green light, Mullis drove her 2009 Lincoln MKS into the intersection, heading the opposite direction and making a left turn across oncoming traffic and collided with Dolosic's vehicle, the suit states.

The defendant is cited with negligence for driving too fast and failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, keep a proper lookout, use correct stopping and turning procedures, and brake or steer to avoid the crash.

As a result, Dolosic claims she suffered injuries to her left arm, left wrist and cervical spine.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. The plaintiff is represented by Paul W. Johnson and Robert W. Schmieder of SL Chapman LLC in St. Louis.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-1071.
