A St. Clair County woman is suing the driver of car in which she claims she was injured after the driver allegedly broke several laws and crashed into a ditch.
Richelle Dallen filed a complaint on Aug. 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dean Wienstroer and Steven G. Wienstroer.
On June 13, Dallen was a passenger in a vehicle owned by Steven Wienstroer and driven by Dean Wienstroer traveling south on Richter Road in Mascoutah. After allegedly crossing an intersection illegally, Dean Wienstroer hit a ditch, which caused the vehicle to flip, launch into the air and roll several times after landing in a corn field, the suit states.
After the accident, Dean Wienstroer was cited by law enforcement for improper traffic lane usage, disregarding a stop sign, driving with a suspended license and failing to provide notice of an accident.
As a result of the accident, Dallen claims she suffered several injuries, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $100,000, plus costs, or $50,000 from each defendant.
The plaintiff is represented by Reed Nelson of Nelson and Nelson in Belleville.
