Gateway Regional Medical Center is suing a former patient for allegedly not paying his bill.
Granite City Illinois Hospital Co., doing business as Gateway Regional Medical Center, filed a lawsuit on Aug. 10 in Madison County Circuit Court against Christian Barnes Jr.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff delivered medical services and goods to Barnes in the expectation that he would pay for them later. The suit says the defendant still owes $51,902.30.
Gateway Regional Medical Center seeks the balance owed, plus attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Stephen J. Barber of Miller and Steeno in St. Louis.
