Madison County woman sues driver for alleged injuries after Olive Township crash

A Madison County woman is suing another driver for injuries she allegedly suffered when rear-ended in Olive Township.

Gina Trice filed a complaint on Aug. 13 in Madison County Circuit Court against Darla Jones.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 25, 2014, Trice was driving her 2014 Kia Sol east on Possum Hill Road, near the intersection with state Route 4, in Olive Township. According to the lawsuit, Jones was driving a 2004 Honda Pilot right behind Trice when she allegedly rear-ended the plaintiff near the intersection.

The defendant is cited with carelessness and negligence in failing to follow at a safe distance, keep her car under control, keep a proper lookout, stop in time to avoid a crash, properly signal, reduce her speed, and drive with safe brakes.

As a result, Trice claims she suffered injuries to her back, neck and other areas, disability, loss of a normal life, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Michael P. Glisson of Williamson, Webster, Falb and Glisson in Alton.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L1-024.
