Insurance company sues Illinois woman, alleging unpaid balance

An insurance company is suing an Illinois woman, alleging she hasn't paid a dime for payment of a promissory note.

Specialty Risk of America, formerly known as Springfield Fire and Casualty, filed a lawsuit on Aug. 14 in Madison County Circuit Court against Vickey Houser.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court's Eastern District of Missouri and it was determined by mediation that a promissory note would be issued requiring the defendant to pay $54,000 over five years. The suit says Houser has not made any scheduled payments.

Specialty Risk of America asks the court to order Houser to pay the full balance of $54,000, plus attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Travis A. Gray of Evans and Dixon in St. Louis.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-1031.
