Customer files slip and fall suit against Wal-Mart

A Wal-Mart customer is suing the Quincy store after she allegedly slipped and fell on a puddle of liquid.

Deborah Waddill filed a complaint on July 24 in Madison County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores.

Waddill was a customer at the Wal-Mart in Quincy on Aug. 6, 2014, when she claims she slipped on a wet floor and fell. According to the lawsuit, she suffered injuries, pain, loss of a normal life and medical expenses.

The defendant is cited for breach of duty for allegedly allowing liquids to leak or stand on the floor, correct a dangerous condition, and warn the plaintiff of the condition.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Benjamin J. Sansone of Sansone and Lauber in Clayton and Mindy S. Bish of Bish Law in Newhall, Calif.
