A man who was injured in a 2013 car accident is suing the driver who he claims rear-ended him.
R. Bruce Johnson filed a complaint on July 23 in Madison County Circuit Court against William R. Presnell.
On July 24, 2013, Presnell and Johnson were driving their vehicles east on Highland Road in Madison County when Presnell allegedly rammed the back of Johnson's vehicle, causing him to suffer injuries, pain and suffering, and medical expenses, according to the complaint.
The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to keep a proper lookout, apply his brakes in time, drive at a safe speed, reduce his speed, drive in a way to avoid hitting Johnson in the rear, exercise due care and follow at a safe distance.
Johnson seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs.
The plaintiff is represented by D. Jeffrey Ezra of Ezra and Associates in Collinsville.
