Woman alleges serious injuries following auto accident

A Madison County woman is suing a driver for negligence after allegedly causing a traffic accident.

Plaintiff Christina Yeager filed a lawsuit on July 28 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mary Simpson, citing negligence.

According to the compliant, on Sept. 14, 2013, Yeager was operating her vehicle eastbound on East Chain of Rocks Road, near its intersection with Tennessee Avenue, when her vehicle was allegedly crashed into from the rear by another vehicle being driven by Simpson.

The lawsuit states that the defendant was driving at excessive speed without exercising ordinary care. She allegedly failed to slow down, swerve or provide warning of a possible collision while driving too close to the plaintiff’s vehicle. The plaintiff claims to have sustained injuries to her head, neck and left shoulder and has lost wages and earnings.

Yeager seeks a "fair and reasonable amount of money damages under the circumstances." She is represented by Scott L. Kolker of Defeo & Kolker in Clayton and Garrett P. Hoerner of Becker, Hoerner, Thompson & Ysursa in Belleville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-962.
