Township alleges rental property owner owes money

A St. Clair County township is suing a property owner, alleging failure to provide payment.

St. Clair Township, a municipal corporation, filed a lawsuit on July 23 in St. Clair Circuit Court against Hassan Abrahim, a property owner doing business as USA Enterprises.

According to the complaint, St. Clair Township provided sewage and sanitation services to several rental properties owned and rented out by Abrahim. The suit says the defendant failed and refused to pay the warranted fees for providing these services and, since May 15, 2008, the fees come to  $75,747.24.

St. Clair Township seeks the $75,747.24, plus attorney fees and costs. The township is represented by attorney William D. Stiehl Jr. of Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 15-L-421.
