Terry O’Toole named ‘Up and Coming Lawyer’

Williams Venker & Sanders associate Terry O’Toole Jr. was recently named an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by Missouri Layers Weekly.

O’Toole focuses on general liability defense including transportation law, insurance defense, personal injury and premises liability. He also works within the healthcare and employment practice groups.

Prior to joining Williams Venker & Sanders in St. Louis, O’Toole served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in St. Louis City and Kansas City, Mo., where he tried over 30 cases to verdict.

In 2013, he received the Louis A. Lombardo Prosecuting Attorney of the Year award.

Before and during the time he attended law school, O’Toole worked as a patrol officer and investigator with the University City Police Department. During his first year of law school in 2003, he was named University City’s “Police Officer of the Year.”

O’Toole also serves as a volunteer for various events for young lawyers and law students and raises funds for the American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb.

“Up and Coming Lawyers” recognizes the state’s premier lawyers who are younger than 40 years old (or within their first 10 years of practice) and who demonstrate both current excellence in their profession, and the potential to make a positive difference in the quality of justice and in their communities.

O’Toole will be honored for his recent accomplishment at a reception on Oct. 2 along with other Missouri lawyers named to the list.
