Motorist sues driver who allegedly caused South Macon collision

A driver injured in a car crash is suing the motorist who allegedly caused the collision.

Barbara Hogue filed a lawsuit on June 30 in Madison County Circuit Court against Julie Curry, alleging carelessness and negligence.

According to the complaint, on July 12, 2013, Hogue, of East Alton, was driving her 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier and was stopped in the median of the four-lane state Route 51, almost to Andrews Street in South Macon. Meanwhile, Curry was driving her 2006 Buick Rendezvous south on Route 51, when she allegedly collided with Hogue's vehicle, causing Hogue injuries to her back, neck and other parts of the body, the suit states.

The plaintiff says the defendant failed to reduce her speed, exercise due caution, drive in the proper lane, keep a proper lookout, keep her vehicle under control, stop her vehicle in time to avoid a crash, honk her horn and drive safely with adequate brakes.

Hogue alleges she sustained injuries, pain and suffering, loss of a normal life and medical expenses.

She is represented by attorney Michael P. Glisson of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-821.
