A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck her vehicle.
Katelynn E. Harger claims she was driving on Pontoon Road in Granite City on May 24 when defendant Natalie L. Mangiaracino, who was driving on the same road, struck her vehicle.
Because of the collision, Harger experienced disability and disfigurement, suffered great pain and mental anguish, lost earnings and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed Dec. 11 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Mangiaracino negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to properly apply her brakes, failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, followed Harger’s vehicle too closely and failed to yield, the suit states.
In her complaint, Harger is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt and Tobin in East Alton will be representing her.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-2008.
