A father of a minor girl has filed suit against the owner of a rock-climbing wall where he claims his daughter fell after employees failed to properly secure her rock-climbing equipment.
Kaci N. Jones was climbing a rock wall owned by defendant 62 Sports Group in Bethalto on April 17, 2011, at about 1 a.m. when the equipment she was using failed, causing her to fall to the floor.
Because of her fall, Jones was prevented from attending to her usual duties, incurred medical costs and lost money that she would have earned, according to the complaint filed Dec. 12 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Roger Jones, Kaci Jones’s father, blames 62 Sports Group for causing his daughter’s fall, saying it negligently failed to properly secure the harness and failed to properly train its employees.
In his complaint, Roger Jones is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River will be representing her.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-2016.
