A woman allegedly suffered head, neck, back and leg injuries after a driver swerved into her lane and struck her vehicle.
Latasha Williams filed a lawsuit Nov. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against David Earl Keys, JT&C Xpress and John Doe Employer.
In her complaint, Williams claims she drove east on Interstate 64 between 25th Street and 15th Street on Nov. 14, 2010, at about 8:15 a.m. Suddenly, Keys, who was driving in the left-hand lane beside her, decided to switch lanes and collided with Keys’s vehicle, sending it into the median, according to the complaint.
In addition to her injuries, Williams incurred medical costs; experienced pain, suffering and discomfort; and lost wages because of the collision, the suit states.
She blames Keys for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to stay in a single lane, drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control and changed lanes when it was not safe to do so.
In her complaint, Williams seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Christopher Hoffmann of The Hoffmann Law Firm in St. Louis will be representing her.
