Woman claims vehicle rear-ended on Greenmount

A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle.

Mollie L. Glenn claims she was driving south on Greenmount Road near its intersection with Interstate 64 in Shiloh on Feb. 19 when Erica S. Dennart, who was driving behind her, struck the back of her vehicle.

Because of the collision, Glenn suffered serious and disabling injuries to her body and limbs; incurred medical costs; and experienced great pain, suffering and emotional distress, according to the complaint filed Oct. 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, she was unable to carry out her usual duties and sustained disability and disfigurement, the suit states.

Dennert negligently drove into the rear of Glenn’s vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to decrease her speed and drove too closely to Glenn’s vehicle, the complaint says.

In her complaint, Glenn is seeking a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.

Gregory D. Abel, Charles A. Lukis, Julie A. Blanks and Craig D. Queen of Hausmann-McNally in Decatur will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-548.
