An East St. Louis man says he was hurt when another driver turned against the light on an off-ramp and crashed into him in Caseyville.
Tyrone Hill filed a lawsuit against Robert L. Brady Oct. 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Hill was driving a Ford F-150 west on Rauckman Drive in March 2011, according to the complaint, near the junction of Illinois Route 157 and Interstate 64. When he saw the left turn signal turn green, Hill says he started to turn left from Rauckman Drive onto Route 157southbound.
At the same time, Brady, driving a Cadillac SRX, was allegedly on the eastbound offramp of Interstate 64 at the intersection of Route 157. Hill claims Brady was in the lane of travel clearly marked for drivers intending to go straight off the exit ramp. However, Brady allegedly turned right from the wrong lane, against the light and without a signal. Brady allegedly crashed into Hill's truck in the intersection.
Hill accuses Brady of negligence and asks for more than $15,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court fees.
Attorney William D. Stiehl Jr. of Belleville represents Hill.
