Two people have filed suit against the driver who they claim rear-ended the vehicle in which they were riding, causing them to sustain neck and back injuries.
Shawn E. and Paul Reagan claim Shawn Reagan was driving east on Glen Carbon Road at its intersection with Route 159 in Glen Carbon on Nov. 29, 2010, at about 6:08 p.m. when defendant Larry D. Evans, who was driving in the same direction, struck the back of the vehicle.
At the time of the collision, Paul Reagan was riding with Shawn Reagan, according to the complaint.
Because of the collision, Shawn and Paul Reagan were made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; incurred medical costs; and suffered disability, according to the complaint filed Oct. 24 in Madison County Circuit Court. She also experienced pain and suffering, lost wages and endured a diminished earning capacity, the suit states.
Evans negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner as to strike the back of Shawn Reagan’s vehicle, failed to properly apply his brakes, drove too fast, drove too closely to Reagan’s vehicle and drove without adequate brakes, the complaint says.
In her two-count complaint, the Reagans are seeking a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
They will be represented by John H. Hustava of Collinsville.
