A woman claims she and her minor daughter sustained various injuries after a driver rear-ended their vehicle.
Lisa Gish filed a lawsuit Oct. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Willie Qualls and Jill Payton.
In her complaint, Lisa Gish alleges she and her minor daughter, Aniya Gish, were riding in a vehicle traveling east on U.S. 50 at its intersection with Regency Park in O’Fallon on Feb. 24 when Qualls, who was also driving east, struck the back of her vehicle.
Because of the collision, Lisa Gish and her daughter became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and suffered neck and back injuries, according to the complaint. They also incurred medical costs, suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering and lost wages, the suit states.
Qualls negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner as to strike the back of Gish’s vehicle, failed to properly apply his brakes and followed Gish’s vehicle too closely, the complaint says.
The vehicle Qualls drove at the time of the collision was owned by Payton, Lisa Gish claims.
In her complaint, Lisa Gish is seeking a judgment of more than $200,000, plus costs.
Thomas C. Rich and Kristina D. Cooksey of Fairview Heights will be representing her.
