Passenger ejected during collision sues driver

A woman claims she sustained neck and back injuries after she was ejected from a vehicle during a collision.

Brittany Eitzenhefer filed a lawsuit Oct. 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Bradley G. Gregson.

In her complaint, Eitzenhefer alleges she rode in a vehicle Gregson drove north on Spaldt Road near Gils Lane in Millstadt when Gregson lost control of his vehicle. During the collision, Eitzenhefer was ejected from the vehicle, according to the complaint.

Because of the accident, Eitzenhefer sustained severe and disabling injuries, suffered neck and back injuries and endured great pain and mental anguish, the suit states. She also lost wages and incurred medical costs, the complaint says.

Eitzenhefer blames Gregson for causing the collision, saying he negligently drove too fast, failed to reduce her speed to avoid the collision and failed to keep a proper lookout.

In her complaint, Eitzenhefer seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Gregory L. Shevlin of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer and Shevlin in Belleville will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-533.
