A Granite City paving company is being sued after one of its employees allegedly rear-ended another driver with an asphalt truck.
Jane E. Biebel filed a lawsuit Oct. 19 in Madison County Circuit Court against Michael & Sons Asphalt and Steven Vahey.
Biebel says she was driving on Illinois Route 203 in September 2011. As she neared the intersection of Iron Street in Granite City, Biebel claims she was hit from behind by an asphalt truck driven by Vahey.
Vahey was allegedly working for Michael & Sons and was driving a truck owned by the company at the time of the crash.
Biebel accuses Vahey and his employer of negligence and asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court fees.
She is represented by attorney David H. Bone of Belleville.
