Fun Town USA responds to woman's slip and fall lawsuit

Mudge

Defendants being sued over a woman's slip and fall at a roller rink are denying allegations of negligence.

Vernon Dulaney and Debra Dulaney, doing business as Fun Town USA, answered a Madison County lawsuit Oct. 15.

Plaintiff Kaitlynne Hinnen filed a lawsuit Aug. 2, alleging she was skating on the rink at Fun Town March 3 when she encountered a defect on the rink, causing her to fall.

Because of her stumble, Hinnen suffered pain and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.

She blames the defendants for causing her fall, saying they
negligently failed to maintain the surface of the rink in a safe condition. She seeks a judgment of more than $50,000.

Samuel A. Mormino Jr. of Mormino, Velloff, Edmonds and Snider in Alton is representing Hinnen.

Stephen Mudge of Reed, Armstrong, Mudge & Morrissey represents the defense.

The case is assigned to Madison County Circuit Judge William Mudge.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-1187.
