A collection agency is demanding a woman repay more than $120,000 she allegedly owes on a Wells Fargo loan.
Credit One LLC filed a lawsuit against Patricia Gibson on Sept. 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, Patricia Gibson opened a credit account with Wells Fargo Bank and charged $72,818. Gibson allegedly agreed to pay the balance plus 15 percent annual interest. The borrower is accused of defaulting in January 2008 by failing to pay the balance due.
Credit One says it bought the past-due account from Wells Fargo. The collection agency is now demanding payment from Gibson in the amount of $121,296 plus interest and court costs.
Attorney Graham Liccardi of Wheeling is representing Credit One.
