Motorcyclist sues over Collinsville accident

A motorcycle rider claims he sustained back, neck, left arm, left leg and groin injuries after a driver struck his bike.

Louis Kite filed a lawsuit Sept. 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against Hannah Bowerman.

In his complaint, Kite alleges he drove west on Beltline Road near its intersection with Pleasant Drive in Collinsville on June 19 when Bowerman entered the road into Kite's path, colliding with him.

In addition to his injuries, Kite incurred medical costs, experienced pain and suffering and suffered a diminished quality of life, according to the complaint.

Bowerman negligently failed to keep a proper lookout for oncoming traffic, failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to avoid a collision, the suit states.

Kite is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

John H. Leskera of Leskera Law Firm in Collinsville will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-1509.
