A woman claims she sustained neck, shoulder and low back injuries after a driver caused a head-on collision with her vehicle.
Shawn and Paul Reagan filed a lawsuit Sept. 13 in Madison County Circuit Court against Stephen C. Kraus.
In their complaint, the Reagans allege Shawn and Paul Reagan drove west on New Poag Road on Oct. 7 at about 1:32 p.m. when Kraus, who drove east on the same road in Chouteau Township, crossed the center line and struck their vehicle head-on.
Because of the collision, Paul Reagan suffered neck, shoulder, back and leg injuries while both Reagans became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; incurred medical costs; and experienced pain and suffering, according to the complaint. She also lost wages and suffered an impaired earning capacity, the suit states.
Kraus negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, struck the front of the Reagans' vehicle, drove too fast, drove on the wrong side of the road, failed to give the Reagans at least one half of the road and drove without adequate brakes, the complaint says.
In their two-count complaint, the Reagans seek a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.
John H. Hustava of Collinsville will be representing them.
