A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims failed to yield the right-of-way, causing a collision.
Margaret M. Droste claims she was driving east on Illinois Route 3 near its intersection with Alby Street in Alton on Sept. 16, 2010, when defendant James A. Good failed to obey a traffic signal and struck her vehicle.
Because of the collision, Droste sustained injuries to her head, face, neck and spine; endured pain and suffering; and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed Sept. 12 in Madison County Circuit Court. She also suffered permanent disability and lost her normal life, the suit states.
Good negligently failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to obey a traffic signal and failed to yield the right-of-way, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Good is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by John C. Webster of Williamson, Webster, Falb and Glisson in Alton.
