To the Editor:
Over the course of the next several weeks the voters will see information from many candidates for office from a national to a local level. This information will come from various outlets including television, radio, mailers, newspapers and social media, just to name a few.
It is important for each campaign to spread their message to the community. Perhaps the best way for voters to "vet" the candidates is through various debates where they can have a chance to see the candidates answer questions and defend his or her positions. It is important that we discuss the real issues facing each office in this important election year.
As a candidate for Madison County State's Attorney, I embrace the opportunity to debate my opponent.
In debates, I can more thoroughly describe my vision for the office and explain the changes I intend to make as State's Attorney. However, to date, I have challenged my opponent publicly through various radio and newspapers to which I have received no response. I am once again requesting a debate on behalf of the voters who deserve to know where each candidate stands on the issues. In this watershed election we should do the most we can to be open and transparent in giving the voters a clear choice on Election Day.
