An Aviston man has filed suit against the driver who he claims violated a red traffic light signal, causing a collision.
Douglas Boehler claims he was driving his 2010 Nissan west on U.S. 50 in O'Fallon on Nov. 3 when defendant Jesse Redd Jr., who was driving his 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche in the same direction, failed to yield at a red traffic light and struck his vehicle.
Because of the collision, Boehler sustained neck, right elbow, right bicep and upper right arm injuries, which were painful, permanent and disabling, according to the complaint filed Aug. 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. Boehler also incurred medical costs and lost wages due to the accident, the suit states.
Redd negligently violated a red traffic signal, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to keep a careful lookout, the complaint says.
In his complaint, Boehler is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
He will be represented by Ryan L. Bruning of Page Law in St. Louis.
