A woman claims she was sexually assaulted during a massage she was supposed to be receiving from a Granite City chiropractor.
Heather Morales filed a lawsuit July 30 in Madison County Circuit Court against James T. Phillips doing business as Phillips Chiropractic.
In her complaint, Morales alleges she visited Phillips Chiropractic on Sept. 22 in hopes of receiving a massage from the chiropractor.
"Phillips violated the plaintiff by sexually assaulting her and other immoral conduct," the suit states.
Phillips's actions were a violation of Morales's personal rights and caused her to suffer emotional distress, according to the complaint.
In her lawsuit, Morales seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
