Eddie's Neighborhood Bar sued by patron who claims she was attacked

A woman has filed suit against the bar where she claims a patron attacked her.

Phyllis Ramsey claims she was at Eddie's Neighborhood Bar and Grill on May 4 when an allegedly intoxicated person attacked her, causing her to sustain a wrist fracture.

Because of the incident, Ramsey also experienced pain and suffering, incurred medical costs, became disabled and was unable to pursue her normal activities, according to the complaint filed July 27 in Madison County Circuit Court.

In her complaint, Ramsey names Eddie's Neighborhood Bar and Grill and its owner, James William Dunn, as defendants, saying they sold alcoholic beverages to the patron who attacked her. They also negligently failed to provide adequate security and failed to protect Ramsey from the intoxicated patron, the suit states.

Ramsey is seeking a judgment of more than $200,000, plus costs.

John C. Webster of Williamson, Webster, Falb and Glisson in Alton will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-1154.
