A Madison County woman who allegedly slipped and fell on an icy sidewalk is suing the company she says owns the property.
Lori Noe filed a complaint against MAC Management Company Inc. on July 20 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Noe says she was walking on MAC-owned property at 501 Kansas Avenue in Belleville in February 2011 when she slipped on an icy sidewalk and fell. She says she seriously hurt her right wrist in the fall and "will continue to experience pain and suffering" as a result. Noe says she has already incurred about $19,500 worth of medical expenses to treat her injuries and will have additional medical bills in the future.
Noe accuses MAC Management of negligence for allegedly failing to clear the ice from the sidewalk or warn pedestrians about the possible danger by posting a sign or other notice. She is asking to be awarded more than $50,000 in damages.
