A woman who says she was hurt in a head-on collision in Madison County is suing the driver she says is responsible and his employer.
Linda Scott filed a complaint July 9 in Madison County Circuit Court against Paul Ferrell and Waltco Tools Inc.
Scott says she was driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger in August 2010 on Seminary Road in the Township of Foster. Scott was going south on Seminary Road at the same time Ferrell was driving east on Straube Lane, according to the petition. Ferrell was allegedly working at the time and operating a 1999 Dodge 3500 owned by Waltco Tools Inc.
Scott says at the intersection of Seminary Road and Straube Lane, Ferrell collided head-on with the Dodge Avenger. Scott says she received internal and external injuries, including serious damage to her neck, back and shoulders. She also "suffered great pain and mental anguish", the complaint reads.
Scott accuses Ferrell and his employer, Waltco Tools, of negligence for allegedly driving too fast for conditions, failing to maintain control of the vehicle, failing to take necessary steps to avoid the collision and failing to sound a horn to warn of the imminent crash. She is asking to be awarded more than $100,000 for medical expenses, disability, pain and suffering.
Attorney Michael P. Glisson of Alton represents Scott.
