A woman claims she sustained head, face, neck, right forearm, back and left knee injuries after a driver swerved into her lane of traffic, causing a collision.
Katelyn Pryor filed a lawsuit June 1 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mahmoud Ahmed Bedwan.
In her complaint, Pryor alleges she drove a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am east on Highway 162 in Pontoon Beach on June 6, 2010, when Bedwan, who drove west on the northbound off-ramp of Interstate 255 and attempted to turn west onto Highway 162, struck her vehicle.
In addition to her injuries, Pryor incurred medical costs; experienced disability, pain and suffering; and was prevented from attending to her usual duties because of the collision, according to the complaint.
Bedwan negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision, failed to bring his vehicle to a complete stop and failed to yield the right-of-way, the suit states.
In her complaint, Pryor is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by Eric M. Rhein of Belleville.
