Angela Donohoo was elected president of the Madison County Bar Association during the group's May meeting at Tony's in Alton.
"I am honored to be selected as president of this organization that has more than 400 members and does so much good in the community," Donohoo stated. "The Madison County Bar Association participates in food drives, gives free legal advice at the courthouse, and provides scholarships and grants in the community."
Donohoo is employed by the law firm of Levo-Donohoo. She attended the University of Tulsa Law School.
The firm is general practice, concentrating in family and probate law.
She is a former Madison County Assistant State's Attorney and is married to Chris Donohoo, also an attorney.
Other officers elected at the May meeting are First Vice President David Jones of the law office of David R. Jones, Edwardsville; Second Vice President Chris Threlkeld of Lucco, Brown, Threlkeld and Dawson, Edwardsville; Treasurer Judge Ellar Duff (Retired) of Alton; and Secretary Eric Carlson of Byron, Carlson, Petri & Kalb, Edwardsville.
The organization also recognized outgoing President Ron Foster for success in the past year, including People's Law School, a luncheon held during Pro Bono Week in October to recognize lawyers who have volunteered their time, and the numbers of schools visited by members during Law Day.
